Oceanário de Lisbon
It seems that Lisbon has one of the largest aquariums in the world.
Who knew?!
The Oceanário opened in 1998 and was the centerpiece of the 20th Century's last World Fair, themed "The Oceans, a Heritage for the Future"
It was really a very enjoyable place to spend an afternoon.
We took the Telecabine (cable car) from our house to the aquarium. It's just a few euros (and even less for senior citizens).
The view was great and we really enjoyed seeing Lisbon and the Tagus River from a different perspective.
From way up here you can get a great view of the Vasco da Gama Bridge which is the longest bridge in Lisbon and Europe. It was also built for the 1998 Lisbon World Exposition and measures 17.2 km long.
We loved the pizza in Brazil and wondered how Portugal's would compare. Yummy!!
The crust is very thin. The toppings were great. (And yes, we each ate the whole thing!)
